Privacy by Design
WiseTime was designed with user privacy as a foremost priority so the control always rests with you. Your data is 100% private until you decide to share it.
The control rests with you
WiseTime was designed with user privacy as a foremost priority throughout the entire development process. Our goal was to develop a tool that would empower users to get the most out of their time without compromising their privacy. Led by our strong privacy-first principles, and in accord with the GDPR requirements, WiseTime puts you in complete control of your data. WiseTime is ISO 27001 certified ensuring that we have strong information security controls in place for our users peace of mind.
For your eyes only
Your activity summary data is 100% private unless and until you decide to share it.
The core difference between WiseTime and the myriad of employee monitoring tools is that all of the personal time information collated into your WiseTime timeline is completely private to you (and always will be).
Unlike monitoring tools where your activities are disclosed in ‘real-time’, WiseTime does not allow your activity to be seen by anyone other than you, unless and until you actively select the activity information and share it.
This means that you always have complete control of what you share, when you share it, and with whom. If you wish to delete your information or simply not share it, it will not be seen by others.
We will never release your private time and activity information without your consent – no exceptions.
Easily separate work from play
We’ve designed exclusion settings that help you easily separate your work and leisure activities. You can adjust your preferences in the desktop app anytime, and WiseTime will simply exclude the specified activities or applications from being captured. This means that you never have to pause or stop WiseTime in order to exclude personal activities. You control what data is released, what data is deleted, and when.
Data Lifecycle Management
In addition to the exclusion preferences, we have also included options for data life-cycle management at both a team and personal level.
Your personal data retention settings allow you to control how long we store your personal timeline data for, independently of your team data retention settings. This gives you even more control over the way your private data is managed.
Your personal data retention period is the period of time we will keep your timeline data for, both posted and unposted activity. This means anything older than the time period you set will be permanently deleted. So if you set your retention period to 2 weeks, then all personal timeline data older than 2 weeks will be discarded.
The team data retention settings affect only the posted team data and can be managed by your team administrator. Team data retention will be completely independent of your personal data retention settings and define how long posted data will be stored at the team level.
We also enable you to request the right to be forgotten when you leave a team. Upon request, team administrators can invoke this right for you. In accordance with GDPR regulations, this function means that all of your personal data will be anonymised so your identity can not be determined from your posted-data history. The time entries that you posted to your team do still contribute to reports, but will populate the records in their anonymised form.
